Dans Days Friday.

Today Dan and her sister left home early today, they convinced their sister to come along they that it will be an adventure to walk , but really they just wanted to get out of the house and be together as a family.

Dans big sister asked Dan about the graduation social. Dan thought that his sister wasn’t really interested until she offered one of her best T-shirts to Dan to wear. Dan said that he didn’t really mean what she said about her boyfriend. But Dans older sister said that she broke things off with him.

When Dan came home from school they sat in the kitchen and ate then mum walked in and said “ by the way I think I won’t be able to come to your graduation social. MOUTH DROPPING.

Play Dough Fractions.

 

After coming back from ICT and MUSIC we had saw that Miss Ouano had set up some Play dough, why? Well in the last few weeks we have been learning how to cut fractions in different ways.

We have been bringing the knowledge that we learn from Miss Ouano and  have been showing in Google Drawing which is a drawing program that is on Google Drive.

This Term , my class have been determined to learn how to cut fraction's in different ways, using play dough. We can show this by cutting across, down and sidewards or even zig zags.

I might I have to say that fractions must be my favourite strategy that I have learnt so far this year. My favorite learning intention/rule is : We are learning to cut the same fraction’s but in different ways.

Dan's Days 11/12 Thursday.

In this chapter mum had lost her job. She was so angry that she slammed the doors and yelled a lot.

For dinner Dan's big sister made some baked so vegetables and omelette. No one wanted to eat so Fang and Feral Dan's two pets ate all of the food.

Tommy Kapai Wilson.

Tommy Wilson is a dreamer, who writes stories for children. He has written cool and interesting children's book. Today was a special Morning for Pt England school, these people are men who write and illustrate the book of Ka Pai . He’s told us a lot of Journeys, Comedy and Morals which is awesome because we finally get to know him well.

My favorite part of Wilson talking was when he told us a true story about Susan and her friend when they went to the Princess Diana “ I went to find Susan she was a banker ” said Tommy. My mouth dropped knowing that she was still alive...

Monday Dan's Day's.. 11

Monday.

Today Dan was begging mum for a new bed, this bed was handed down to Dan from his sister. She grew out of it. Dans bed was soft just like last weeks bananas. Dan thought it was old when he got it, the bed belonged to his sister. His sister grown out of it and it became his. His sister gets a new bed while he gets a hand-me-down bed.

Its My Birthday !!!

I was born original and no ones going to stop me from being original. Hello my name is Lesieli and today was a dream come true for me. Counting the Months was really boring but now The thing that I wanted to happen is upon me now and that is my Birthday. Being 10 is a really big step for me.

Two more medals added to our Talley...

Laura Thompson & Philippa Gray .

Well done to our New Zealand teams for putting a great effort into their work at the Paralympic Games 2012.

Phillipa Gray and Laura Thompson have won New Zealand's first gold on the track, and also the country's first ever gold in the Paralympic Games. Our medal count for the Paralympic games is eleven and so far we a coming 14th place on the chart.

Laura and Phillipa have been placed on the podium for coming 1st and 4th out of the hole game. The two girls worked so hard that they got a Gold and a Bronze.

Thompson and Gray celebrated their medals with a burger! The  disabilities of the two girls is their eyes. Their eyes are infected with a disability because they are vision impaired.

Exhausting Cross Country

 

How was your first cross country practice? In the past few weeks we have been practising and what we did was we ran two kilometres. It really felt like a marathon but it was actually not.

Why were you practising? I hear you ask, well cross country running is a sport in which people run in. Cross Country has been the besties days in the world.

On Friday Pt.England School had been running Cross Country. This include the whole school and even the teacher’s. Sometimes even the helpers run.

Walking down to the bottom field we heard the clapper. “BOOM” of went the 9 year old girls and boys. The 9 year old girls and boys had the same run as the 10 year old girls and boys.

Then it was time for the 10 year old girls to come up to the starting line, “BOOM” went the clapper. Running towards the footpath I already had mud on my legs it was really tiring having to run through that mud.

While I was running I felt stuff going up my pants, and guess what it was? Mud wow, how could mud run through my feet up my legs and back down again. How awesome is that? MAYBE THE MUD LIKES ME, just kidding.

Running up and down through the paths was really tiring, especially having to run through the mud patches. When I was running I saw my friends shoe in the mud. “WHAT?” I hear you say.

Having fun and running I didn't realize, but we were near the end. “ BIG FINISH BIG FINISH”, yelled Mr Jacobsen. I ran as fast as I could and ended up slipping to the finish line.

"Where Is My Gold Medal ?

After a positive test of steroids in Nadzeya body she has been disqualified- But the problem is that she is that she is in Europe and she won't be back until maybe next year.

Valerie Adams wants to share her Olympic gold medal with all New Zealanders supporters who have been there for her, but there's a problem.

At the back of house in Belarus there lays a gold medal that belongs to Valerie. “ All I want is the medal that was around Nadzeya neck before she flow of to Belarus ” said Valerie . But in the eyes of the Belarus people they still Believe that their hero Nadzeya deserves the gold Medal.

Nadzeya has appealed that she doesn't want to let go of her Gold medal no matter what. Nadzeya has been saying if she should refuse to give it back or NOT.

Test Positive about Drug's - Sliver turned into Gold

New Zealand has won its sixth gold medal of the Olympics after Valerie Adams revealved that Nadzeya Ostapchuk tested positive for having steroids drugs taken before having her final match of shot put. 

This was an absolutely disgraceful thing to do especially if they a competing in the Olympics. If I had a opinion I belive that Valerie Adams should go home with a Gold medal around her neck saying " I'm proud of myself ". 

I am very proud that the Gold had turned into silver because New Zealand's Olympic Champion of Shot-Put has put herself in a very good stage.

Dan's Days

It was a great day to have a walk. When Dan was looking around in the rubbish Dan found a old gutter. When He found it was really smelly so they used a chemical liquid that destroys bacteria.Once Everything was settled they went to Granny’s and Grampa's house for dinner. Everytime Dans little sister shaks Gramps hand Gramps always leaves one-dollar in her hand.

Junior Hip Hop

We dance for laughter, we dance for tears, we dance for madness, we dance for fears, we dance hope, we dance for screams, we are the dancers, we create dreams.

Lunch time today me and some other girls in my classroom tutored some junior girls and boys from years 3 to 4. We were excited to tutor little girls and boys but it was pretty hard. We had to teach them a dance and the song we danced to was. Yeah 3x By Chris Brown.

Term Two Reflection

Term Two Reflection

Reading: I am a enthusiastic girl so I like to share my work on a Presentation or a Blog post. But this term I have been learning to show my work in different ways. But this term I have been working on getting better at reading book one of my goals for reading was to read at a age 12. And that has came true. In reading I haven't been completing my tasks properly so this year I will make sure that I will work on my reading. Next term I need to improve in my reading and not rush because if I rush all the time the audience wouldn't know what I’m talking about.

Writing: This term my goal is to work hard and achieve in writing!. Overall this term I feel amazed, because we have learned so many new stuff. But over the past few terms I have been awesome writing. But I really need to work one my sentence beginnings. Next term I need to work on my sentence beginning. So when I published it people will really be interested in it.

Maths: Having maths is fun. Especially learning new strategies like Tidy Tens and Comparisons. Once our maths is finished we do something called Practice Sheet.But sometimes maths is s hard for people but not for me maths is like the easy’s subjects out of reading writing and Multimedia. This term I haven’t been completing my Practice sheets properly so I am working on having the habit to always do Practice sheet. I need to improve in doing my Practice sheets and having the habit of doing it all the time.

Multimedia/ICT: This term I have learnt that it better to rub a little bit out than all of it. I did well in my time laps of my face. I have also been learning how to make movies and edit it myself . I haven’t been on multimedia that much so I haven’t been much about my animation. Next term I have to improve on making movies and editing my own work

PES Art Galley ...

An art gallery or art museum is a building or space for the exhibition of art, Usually visual art.But today we went to a Art Gallery where children made their own paintings.

1. With over a decade of experience, the Pt Englander Students Opened up a Art Gallery for Children as a Art Centre.
2. Today the student of Room14 went to the hall to see an exhibition. Exhibition's a usually painting that famous people make such as Leonardo Da Vinci and Picasso, but today these painting were made by the student at Pt England School. We were so thrilled to see painting's inspired by lots of cool artists.  
3. While waiting outside I tried to peek at the back to see what is was like. The main Instruction was to not touch any of the paintings. Then Miss Ouano lead us into the Art Galley it really looked like one. 
4. One of my favourites paintings was room 10's Painting. Their artists looked really funky. I like the way how they added glitter to their work to add more detail.

Clay Ornaments....

Youthtown

I was pretty excited. This trip had the makings of a new experience, which had something to do with Clay and a heated swimming pool.

On Wednesday Room 14 and Room 17 went to an Art workshop held at Youthtown.

Listening to the instruction we finally got to move onto the next class which was a Clay WorkShop. While room 14 were making clay Room 17 was relaxing in the hot nice pool with their teacher.


Our first instruction was to get the books for inspiration patterns. As soon as we had our patterns we had to put our hand up and wait patiently for Sue to roll out the Clay. Getting the clay in my hands felt really cold but I managed to get sorted and get going with my Art work.

Rowling the Clay from palm to fingers was really exhausting and roughing the edges was really trying as well. Spreading the slip on the clay was hard because the slip was always sticking to my fingers. Finally it was time to spread some glass onto our art. Then it was time to put our art into the kiln to cook.
