Film Festival
I pushed in line of my fellow peer’s and made my way to the front, finally I was in the bus. On Wednesday the 11th of November our annual Film Festival was held at the Extreme Screen in Sylvia Park, our school along with Ruapotoka School had a combined session.
This year was Ruapotoka’s very first year being present at the Film Festival this meant it was their first year entering their movies. We entered Theater two and found Ruapotoka already seated. Listening, Silence and appropriate applause was compulsory throughout the screening of the movies.
Finally I was seated, it was time to get this started. The movies ran by fast and already we went across a lot of amazing movies. All of the movies were absolutely amazing but we came across one that I really really loved. Law and Order - Room 1, Pt England.
Their movie was based on the use of our language, and how sometimes what we say may seem like joke, but really could be offending. The actors were amazing. Overall the Manakalani Film Festival was a huge success, it was an amazing day.

Inspiration Talk
This morning after Morning Tea, the Year 8 student’s got the opportunity to talk and participate in a inspiration talk with Mr Andrew Patterson. Our inspiration talk was based around us attending college next year and the daily problems that we will be facing, like being time wise, and making the right choices.
During the talk we came across the '7 Habits of Highly Effective Teens' we were all firstly shown two movies, summarising all the 7 habits, I watched the clip and found that theses habits are surly going to be happening in college.
7 Habits of Highly Effective Teens :
1. Be Proactive
2. Begin with the end in mind
3. Put First things First
4. Think Win Win
5. Seek first to understand, then to be understood
6. Synergize
7. Sharpen the Saw
After watching the 2 little clips, it made me more confident about what college may be like next year. It has also taught me that, time is precious cause we have some much to do in so little time, so it's important that we are time wise.

Term 4 is once again over, and as always we have started term 4 with another Immersion Assembly. This term our school wide topic is PES Survivor's - outwit, outsmart, outlast.
We started the day with a pep talk from Team 1, this term they are focusing on zoo animals, and how they have adapted to their surrounding, to extend their knowledge on zoo animals, team 1 are taking a trip to the zoo, along with Marika who was a contestant in the karaoke sing off and took it out.
Team 2 & 3 are both learning about dinosaurs, but there's a catch. Team 2 are learning about the backgrounds of dinosaurs and how they didn’t adapt too well to their surroundings, causing them to become extinct. Team 3 on the other hand are creating there very own dinosaurs.
Animals are based everywhere, and to prove that, team 4 are going on a world wide safari. Team 4 are taking a world wide safari, visiting places they never knew about, not only to learn about it but to also explore the wild life.
Humans are what make up the earth and this term, team 5 are not only learning about animals, but always humans. Humans have been on earth for quite a while now, but not everyone of us are the same. Humans have also learn’t to adapt to their surroundings, like myself I have learnt that the weather changes a lot, so it is important to have the appropriate clothing.

CyberSmarts Reflection - W9T3
The term is slowly coming to and end, and so is our CyberSmarts session. During the 9 weeks of having Cybersmart session, it has taught not only myself but my fellow friends a lot of values and things in order to be safe online. Being CyberSmart is and very important value that should be taught in everyone's life. One thing that I have learn't from Miss Kyla, is the importance of keeping private things private, and that number/emails/full names, shouldn't be shared online.
Thank You Miss Kyla for you teachings.

Hobsonville Point Primary School - GEG NZ
The trip to Hobsonville was a 1hr drive, and it was pretty exhausting especially when there was no music. We arrived at HPPS (Hobsonville Point Primary School) at quarter to 9:00, just in time to collect our Swag Bags which included a map of the school, our own name tags and a bag of bagel chips, finally it was time to get GEG NZ for 2015 started.
We walked towards the school gym which was located down the hall, and we grabbed a seat. The HPPS ambassadors, lead the beginning with a Himene and a few words, they gave us house keeping rules and the day was started.

Our First session was located just down the hall 7B. We rushed down towards the classroom to find that it was packed with a whole range of people from different schools. Finally we were seated, the session started off with tips about ‘Stratch’ , how to work it, what the program features are and how the characters works.
Next, we moved onto the 2nd part of the session which was playing with the Makey Makey. The Makey Makey, was a little tool that had a lot of wires, firstly we were given a bag that included the Makey Makey, Play Dough and a whole bunch of wires.

The first thing we did was hook up the wires to the makey makey, then we made a object with the play dough, secondly my group and I plugged the black cord to the object that we made, which was a snow man, then once the the snow man was touched the sound that was put into scratch will play, and the commands that were given to the character will do what it was told to do.Session two was just near, and we knew that our group was presenting. Our
group presentation was based on PENN (Pt England News Network), we told the audience what it was all about and how it worked. Then it was time to get the audience involved, making there very own PENN episode.
Firstly we spilt the crowd into 4 groups of 4, then it was time to put there acting skills to the test, each person had the chance to present each topic, everyone had a sentence to say. After recording the PENN made at GEG NZ was done, and was ready to be broadcasted.
In my group, there was Myself, Josephine, Stevenson, Jordan S, Ana V, Khaia, and Paige.
